Reporting to the General Manager/Chief Winemaker, the Sales Manager will drive sales growth, managing and complementing the work of Red + White, while developing and nurturing direct relationships with key trade partners.
This newly created role is key to delivering the next phase of Yabby Lake’s commercial growth. This is a field-based role, offering autonomy, while working closely with a collaborative, experienced team and high-integrity business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and deliver a national sales plan to deliver growth across the portfolio
- Identify and secure new listings and build deeper engagement with key trade customers
- Trade Relationship Management
- Build and strengthen relationships with key clients such as on-premise venues, retail partners, GTR and banner groups
- Further develop and expand accounts and build sustainable sales volume per listing
- Distributor Engagement
- Collaborate closely with Red + White to ensure alignment of sales goals and priorities
- Monitor performance, identify opportunity areas, and provide commercial guidance to enhance outcomes
- Channel Development
- Support growth opportunities in direct-to-customer, wine club, online platforms, and premium partners
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years in sales within the wine or premium beverages industry
- Strong understanding of, and existing relationships within the Australian wine trade, beyond the on-premise and independent retail landscape
- Proven commercial capability, including negotiating, forecasting, and business development across all wine sales channels
- Comfortable managing distributor relationships and understanding the dynamics of indirect sales models
- Track record of growing premium or fine wine brands
- Field-based self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A genuine enthusiasm for Australian fine wine and brand storytelling
- You will thrive in an autonomous role, enjoy working at a strategic and grassroots level, and align with a company culture that values loyalty, humility, and hands-on expertise
- Valid driver’s licence
- Capacity for regular domestic travel
