Iconic Australian producer Best’s Wines Great Western continues to excel as they celebrate 160 years and move into their next chapter, bringing together innovation and wine excellence.
Established in 1866, Best’s is one of Australia’s First Families of Wine and remains a family owned and run business, focused on bringing a progressive approach to growing and making wine. The diverse portfolio showcases their vineyards, planted with over 40 varieties ranging from some of the oldest vines in the country to young vines. Early adopters of customer focused wine experiences and sales strategies, this consumer-led approach has built long-term loyalty and is central to evolving both the brand and the wines.
Best’s is seeking a hands-on, commercially minded National Sales & Marketing Manager to steer the next phase of its evolution and growth. Building on established domestic and international sales channels, you will represent the brand and explore new opportunities and markets. This pivotal role in the Leadership Group offers scope to shape strategy, strengthen distribution performance, protect brand equity, and drive sustainable volume and revenue growth.
Supported by a family business that values ingenuity and authenticity, you’ll have clear pathways to career progression. This role offers autonomy to work remotely, with regular time at the estate in Great Western to maintain close relationships within a high-performing, experienced team.

Celebrating 160 years, Best’s is one of Australia’s First Families of Wine and has preserved some of the oldest and rarest vineyard resources not only in Australia, but in the world. In 1866, Henry Best purchased 73 acres of land in Great Western and named it Concongella and with the first vines planted in 1868, Best’s became a functioning winery by 1869. Best’s Concongella Vineyard is home to Henry Best’s original Nursery Block, containing almost 40 different varieties as well as the 1868 plantings of Shiraz and Pinot Meunier. These are among Australia’s most notable vineyard resources.
Best’s have continually evolved, combining their extensive experience and knowledge with new innovations and improvements. From undertaking new vineyard trials, including a 2 year pilot program to test a fully automated vehicle using UVC light to combat plant pathogens, to being one of the first to switch to screw cap closures. Adapting to changing consumer behaviours and preferences has also been a key focus for Best’s, implementing DTC and customer experiences such as online tastings well in advance of it being the norm.
