Group Vineyard Manager

Overseeing 300 Ha of company vineyards across Margaret River and Great Southern, this is one of the most senior viticultural leadership roles in Western Australia today. Howard Park is seeking an astute, forward-thinking viticulturist to manage the company’s sites across both regions, including 64 Ha of new plantings, the nursery, composting, vine improvement programs and extensive capital upgrades. Howard Park is committed to genuinely sustainable management, through a nuanced combination of traditional and biological farming with (uncertified) organic and biodynamic principles.

Established in 1986, Howard Park is one of the great houses of Western Australia. A member of Australia’s First Families of Wine and a driving force behind the international reputation of Margaret River and the Great Southern over decades. The company has some of the most significant vineyard holdings across Mount Barker and Margaret River and a commitment to improvement and reinvestment in vineyard, winery and bottling assets. From the accessible MadFish range to the flagship Abercrombie and Marchand & Burch wines, the Howard Park team has an uncompromising drive for quality across all styles.

The wines are distributed across Australia and exported around the world, including to Japan, Hong Kong, the UK and USA.

Reporting to the CEO, the Group Vineyard Manager will work closely with the Chief Viticulturist and Chief Winemaker to strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of the company’s vineyards. Leading and mentoring a dedicated vineyard team across various sites, this is a demanding, senior managerial role with great scope for professional development and career progression.

An attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience and a senior role of this nature is available to the successful candidate.
