The new General Manager for Peter Teakle Wines will be the central management figure for the estate’s growing wine business and hospitality venue in Port Lincoln. Peter Teakle Wines is transforming South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula into a premier food and wine destination, receiving outstanding accolades including an AGFG Chef Hat 5 years running for their restaurant Line & Label.

Overlooking Boston Bay and Port Lincoln, the estate has a strong connection to the local community and tourism industry, showcasing regional produce and promoting the area’s natural resources. A 1-hour flight from Adelaide, Port Lincoln is well known for its world-class seafood and diverse range of aquatic and adventure activities. Surrounded by stunning beaches and national parks, the thriving coastal town offers an incredible lifestyle, with a house included – just a 100m walk to the beach.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the General Manager will be responsible for all estate operations and take ownership of the Peter Teakle Wines brand and business strategy.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Management or similar discipline preferred
  • Relevant experience in wine business and estate management
  • Experience managing a large and multidisciplinary team, in-line with current workplace regulations and practices
  • Track record of developing brand and customer experiences in a wine and hospitality environment
  • In-depth knowledge of national and global wine styles and trends
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with a range of audiences
  • Innovative and results-driven
  • Capacity for light domestic travel
  • Valid driver’s licence

Wine Business

Peter Teakle Wines has invested in a multi-million-dollar winery and redevelopment of the vineyard with plans for further expansion, as part of the ongoing growth and development of the wine business. The 100-tonne winery is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, set alongside the 10 Ha vineyard.

The portfolio of wines currently have an on-premise focus through the estate’s cellar door and restaurant, with plans for market growth in domestic and international channels.
