Executive Officer

Deadline for applications: Wednesday, 6th August 2025

Bring your energy, creativity and people skills to one of Australias most admired wine regions — where vineyards meet the sea and every vintage tells a story.

The Mornington Peninsula is more than a wine region, it’s a community of makers, growers and storytellers. It’s where cool-climate vineyards roll towards rugged coastlines. Where Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Shiraz are grown with intention, and long lunches stretch into unforgettable weekends.

This role places you at the centre of it all. As Executive Officer of Mornington Peninsula Wine, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of marketing, signature events, technical programs, communications and member-facing activity that keeps the region connected, visible and thriving. From digital engagement and industry collaboration to hands-on program delivery, this is a role that blends influence with impact.

You’ll work closely with a highly skilled Executive Committee, guiding delivery across viticulture, winemaking, tourism, sustainability and regional storytelling. This is your chance to help shape its future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of Mornington Peninsula Vigneron Association’s (MPVA) strategic initiatives, working closely with the Executive Committee to ensure progress against key priorities
  • Manage Mornington Peninsula Wine’s marketing, social media and digital communications to elevate the region’s voice and visibility
  • Plan and deliver Mornington Peninsula Wine’s signature events including the Pinot Noir Celebration, the Pinot Noir Challenge wine show, Winter Wine Weekend, Piers & Pinots and Walk Weekend
  • Support delivery of technical programs across viticulture, winemaking, sustainability and regional capability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, sponsors, tourism and government partners
  • Support member engagement, onboarding, renewals and day-to-day communication
  • Identify and activate revenue opportunities through sponsorships, grants and funding programs
  • Supervise two part-time staff and manage general administration including CRM, Xero and reporting
  • Represent Mornington Peninsula Wine at events, tastings and industry forums with professionalism and presence

Youll thrive in this role if you…

  • Feel that marketing and brand storytelling is in your blood
  • Are a confident organiser and communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Have experience in wine, agriculture, tourism, regional development or related industries
  • Are comfortable juggling strategic priorities with hands-on delivery — from guiding a campaign to managing the detail
  • Have demonstrated success leading programs, events or projects across multiple stakeholders
  • Know your way around Xero, Office, Mailchimp and CRM systems (or can learn quickly)
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills — and enjoy building strong, trusted relationships
  • Have a strategic mindset, a solutions-focused approach and the drive to lead with care
  • Are ready to step into a visible, respected role that contributes to a thriving regional industry

Highly Regarded

  • Prior experience in a wine, agri-business, tourism or membership-based organisation
  • Proven track record in program delivery, stakeholder engagement and communications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, Events or a related discipline

About Mornington Peninsula Wine

Mornington Peninsula Wine is the public-facing brand of the Mornington Peninsula Vignerons Association (MPVA), the regional body representing grape growers and wine producers across the Mornington Peninsula.

Since its formation in 1982, MPVA has fostered a connected, collaborative wine community. Funded by member contributions, event income, sponsorships and project-based government grants, the association supports its members by promoting the region, coordinating events and trade activity, and representing the local wine community to government and aligned industries.

MPVA represents around 80% of the region’s production and is known for both its strong sense of community and its commitment to excellence in cool-climate viticulture.
