Defined Wine, near Canterbury, UK, are seeking a Head Winemaker to begin in July/August 2020. The role will oversee all winemaking and production operations.
Defined Wine is the UK’s first specialist contract winemaker, providing a diverse range of options – from comprehensive “crate to case” winemaking to specific services for a broad range of clients. From the very smallest parcels to the larger UK houses, the approach is specifically tailored to the wine style and business needs of each client. The results are exciting and attracting attention in both trade and media.
This role is responsible for day-to-day operations plus financial, environmental and OH&S management. Reporting to the CEO, the Head Winemaker will lead and develop both winery and production teams. From hands-on winemaking to higher-level strategy and client meetings, the role is as broad as it is challenging. The Head Winemaker must be familiar with a full range of styles for cool-climate sparkling and still wines.
The role involves vineyard visits in Southern England and occasional travel to Europe.
This is a position for a meticulous, experienced winemaker with a competitive remuneration package. The winery is based in one of the most beautiful parts of Southern England, less than one hour from London by train and 20 minutes from the Channel Ports.
